You are invited to two conferences – one in the North, one in the South:
A group of California library consortia are co-sponsoring a symposium called Digitizing in a Material World on April 19th in San Jose. Supported in part by LSTA funds through the California State Library, this symposium features some of the country's experts on digitization resources. The presenters will provide guidance for library, museum and corporate library staff to plan or enhance their agency's digitization and electronic preservation projects.
The full announcement and registration are available on the Califa site: <http://califa.org/digitizationsymposium/announcement.html> http://califa.org/digitizationsymposium/announcement.php
The price of the workshop is $75 for sponsoring agency members and $100 for non-members.
Since the Community College Library Consortium is one of the sponsors, you can attend at the reduced rate. This conference will be repeated in the South in the fall.
SCELC's annual Vendor Day takes place on Thursday, March 8 at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Loyola Marymount is located 10 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport. As in past years, librarians from all types of California libraries are invited to this event.
Please go to the SCELC web page at
http://scelc.org/meetings/vendorday/2007/, and check out the program for the SCELC Vendor Day 2007.
Also, for non-SCELC librarians, the charge to attend remains at only $10, to help cover the costs of meals, supplies, etc. You can bring your payment check, payable to SCELC, to the Vendor Day registration table or mail it ahead of time to:
